The university was established in 1867. The Maidstone College of Art was founded during that time. The college then changed its name to The Kent Institute of Art and Design. It was founded in 1987 as one of several art colleges.

Student Life

As the voice of college students, the UCA Students' Union (UCASU) works to protect the rights of students on all fronts and at all levels.
