History

Bangor University was established in Bangor, Wales in 1884. The university, located in North West London, is home to over 2,500 students from over 100 different countries. The university is one of the oldest educational institutions in the United Kingdom.

Bangor University has been dedicated to academic excellence for over 135 years. They are one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the United Kingdom, conferring degrees. The university's unique coastal location indicates that it is an excellent institution for studying Ocean Science.

However, the university has grown in popularity for its other programmes, particularly Electronic Engineering, Sports Science, and Accounting and Finance. Student Support

A peer guide assists incoming students in adjusting to their new environment and settling into university life.

Personal tutors are available to provide guidance and assistance.

Their Study Skills Centre provides facilitated writing spaces, one-on-one assistance, and additional services.

Statistics and Mathematics drop-in centres provide individualised assistance in numeracy and statistics.

Individual support can be offered by study mentors.

Student Life

Located between the sea and the mountains, Bangor is an affordable educational institution. The vibrant nightlife and diverse culture offer students a variety of entertainment options. The university has its own nightclub called "Academi" for socialising, two residential bars for eating, drinking, and hanging out, and the Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, an art and entertainment venue.

The university's prime location provides access to outdoor activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking, making it an excellent choice for students who enjoy the outdoors. The university also hosts a variety of day trips, movie nights, Sunday lunches, open mic nights, and their annual concert.

Housing Facilities of Bangor University

The University of Bangor offers 3,000 student rooms in two locations. All accommodation at Bangor University is self-catered, and free gym memberships are available to all students who reside there. All first-year students at Bangor University are guaranteed university housing.

Transportation

The majority of university buildings are close to both the city centre and student housing by foot. The city's bus service is available for use by students. They can take direct trains leaving from Crewe, Cardiff, Manchester, and London.

From the M6 to the M56, there is a road in Bangor that leads to the north Wales coast. Students can use the ferry service from Holyhead to travel to Ireland. Manchester and Liverpool airports are only two hours away by train from Bangor. If they want to travel to Cardiff on a weekday, students can go to Anglesey airport.
